NuStar Energy is following its own star in pursuit of energy profits, through terminalling and storing petroleum products, transporting petroleum products and anhydrous ammonia, and via asphalt marketing. The independent company (operating primarily in the US) manages about 8,700 miles of refined product pipelines, 1,200 miles of ammonia pipelines, 1,180 miles of crude oil pipelines, 50 refined product terminal facilities, and one crude oil storage facility. It has 93 million barrels of storage capacity and operates product terminals around the world. In 2014 NuStar Energy divested its asphalt joint venture.
